Anesthesia / Phillipa

Hey Phillipa, you're a nurse, right? I need someone to tell me about general anesthesia. There is a possibility I might have general anesthesia later this year. The thought of being rendered unconscious to the point of having to breathe off a ventilator scares me. I am also scared about the phenomenon of intra-operative awareness, i.e. waking up during surgery but being paralyzed so that you cannot communicate your distress to the surgical team.
