OK, I'm back, lol.
Continuing:6. Stay away from alcohol and other "downer" drugs. These drugs can make you feel better at the time you are using them but they can actually cause depression.
7. Eat healthy and excersise. (I know I have already mentioned this once but) eating healthy and excercising not only help keep you healthy but they make you feel good. They also help you feel good about yourself.
9. Spend time with people you love. When you care about people and you know and feel that care in return, that always makes you feel good. Remember to share thoughts and feelings. Just the act of releasing them out of your mind can make you feel better.
10. Stay on your medications. (I know you all probably hear this one over and over). Even when you are feeling good, your medications are to help you maintain that feeling. The side effects of most of these meds can be very bothersome, especially those that take away that awesome euphoria, but don't forget how bad you felt in a full-blown depression. You will have to decide for yourself which is worse. Remember to open-up to your psychiatrist. Express your thoughts and feelings, including those about your medications. Work with him and, if you trust him, follow his advice and recomendations. He will help you figure out how and when to decrease and/or stop your medications.Ok, I have babbled enough. I hope this helps!!! Please post any questions, comments and/or feedback and I will try to reply soon. Cyndi
