> hi can someone pls give me a link if possible for reading about the names of different types of transferance and counter transferance thanks
Hey its me :P
I followed that link that Fallen posted and wow..I like the sounds of this book
The description is:
This is a brave and inspiring book by an experienced, analytically-trained clinician who learned from leading a group of gay men with AIDS that the traditional Freudian treatments of erotic transference-abstention and interpretation, usually as resistence-could stifle some patients. These dying men demanded that Dr. Rosiello take more emotional risk. She did with them and then with other patients. The book describes a series of therapeutic encounters, including an asexual man, a seductive lesbian patient, and a therapist who is smitten with a new patient in the waiting room and, after many false starts, finds Dr. Rosiello for supervision.
I didnt really know that countertransference could or does go that deep with some therapists.
Its got me thinking now lol...I could only wish though.
My T has mentioned transference and countertransference once briefly in a session but i think it'd be interesting to talk about it. Although, sometimes I'm scared he can see right through me and know that I've developed some sort of emotional attachment to him. ITs not like being in love or a crush its just feeling like my world would come crashing down if were to stop seeing him and I enjoy talking to him so much.*Ahem* Anywho, I'm trying to find a library that has this book or one similar cause I'm really interested. I'll let you know how it goes and vice versa.
*hugs* talk to ya soon.
