Thanks for all of the great suggestions! Seems like the general consensus is that some pampering is in order, huh? That I can handle :).
During the actual hour of my session, I ended up taking a nap. Sounds silly but quite a luxury for a toddler’s mommy. Then, a wonderful friend of mine called later in the afternoon. KK, the one thing nicer than talking to a good friend when you call is having them “know” that you need to talk and calling you first.
To answer some of your questions, he didn't offer a phone session, which I found a bit odd. I mean, if it was a problem with the building and not his own reason for canceling, why wasn't he free to do that during our normal time? But, I just let it go because I'm not 100% comfortable with phone sessions. I've had them when I really "needed" to, but I think this might have felt a little awkward for me. I have been having some difficult sessions but nothing “urgent”, I guess.
I do journal some and that really helped me through his last vacation that coincided with mine. I didn't see him for almost a month. I got pretty desperate and that's when I found Babble. What a positive thing that came from that!
As for the pampering, I just spent a bit of money at the salon on Friday, but perhaps I can find a bit more for at least a pedicure this week. Summer is quickly approaching after all. (Hmm, Daisy, new pair of sandals...)
I pretty regularly chat with my T in my head. I've never actually made a point to try to have a conversation, though. I might end up trying too hard to figure out what he would say and that usually gets me in trouble.
Basically, I've been trying to distract myself which has been working pretty well. I'm a little nervous about the work week though. Sometimes I find that I get frustrated there and everything seems worse than it is. I'm hoping for a quiet week.
Thanks again, everyone! It’s nice to know you’re here to help me get through this week (and every other week, for that matter ;).)
Take care,
All Done
