I think stuff like this can be really helpful. I've been doing yoga for a couple of years and have noticed a different improvement in my moods. When I start getting depressed and go to a yoga class there is a definite lifting of my mood.
I'm not sure why Christians would oppose to this since this is a kind of exercise. There is a spiritual/religious side to this but you don't have to participate in that part of it.
