Just wanted to share with all of you the card my T sent me this year. She has sent one every year for the last several years, but this year's is a little late, so of course I thought she had forgotten. But I got it today and here's what she said:
"Happy Birthday! What a year (and more) it has been -- there was no card that could capture it.
You have been through a "Dark Night of the Soul," persevered, fought for life and now claim it.
It has been a rough ride at times for both of us, but truly, TG, for me, it is a privilege.
I do appreciate the woman you have grown to be, the person you are -- the whole package. I celebrate your life and the richness of being a part of it.

T"She has never, ever, ever signed a card "Love, T" before, so that was a nice surprise. And I'm a little overwhelmed and a lot touched by her note. I don't have many people to share this with (just one besides you guys), so I hope it's okay for me to post this here.
