Welllll. This is just a guess, because it's hard for me to imagine being so bored that I'd be willing to terminate, although I am bored sometimes.
But therapy is a unique experience. Having a place to go where you are the focus, and your needs are what matters, and someone listens to what you say. That's an appealing thing.
And your relationship was real in a way. Even if you don't need or want to pay for continuing that relationship, it is only natural to have longings for it from time to time.
And maybe there's hope that something different will happen if you go back. Like I'm feeling so bad right now, and I really want to call my therapist. I know that calling him won't help me feel any better, and I can't really spare the time or money to schedule an extra appointment, and it wouldnt' help if I did. But there's always that hope...
