Celia does have a point, they can't predict the future and so events *could* happen which would end the relationship. A competant T would help you transition to a new T and make sure you would be seen by someone. Not all T's are good ones.
I wouldn't just pin all of my hopes/fears on one conversation about it. I think it is important you continue to discuss your fear of abandonment with your T.
SOmetimes issues do take years, other times not so long. Maybe by the time therapy ends, short or long, you won't need her or fear her leaving you.
At some point, in order to get over your fear, you will have to learn to take the risk and trust someone.
