B2chia, this is what upset me; in over five pages of Google search results for BPD, nearly all of them were supportive, bar this one - and by a practicing psychiatrist of all people. This is easily the most ignorant and venomous diatribe directed at the mentally ill persons that I've ever read. I think my psychiatrist had BPD, or strong traits, and he was very aggressive towards me, and he has cut off my access to psychiatric care, probably for good. So I find 'Dr. Sanity's' Blog very triggering. I wanted to share this with the board in the hope of getting support.
>i can't even read others responses to this because it's so rediculous.
I wish people would read other's responses to threads like this because it helps to gauge the tone and content of our posts.
>why is she comparing people with BPD to those 'against' Bush or against the war??
That's what I wondered too. My guess was that her social schema or whatever goes something like this:
"I got f*cked over by someone with BPD, therefore all people with BPD are bad. I hate socialists, therefore all socialists are bad people. All bad people have BPD, therefore all socialists must have BPD".
It's extremely crude and naive, but as far as I'm concerned this is the caliber of her political theories. I'm really shocked that someone who has actually studied medicine and psychiatry can have so little insight into their own mental processes.
>she talks so negatively about them...if she's that upset by it, i hope she stops practicing psychology.
Me too, though I can't see it happening unless she actually attacks someone, even then it's pretty much a crap shoot. Who would a jury believe; the patriotic psychiatrist or the borderline patient?
