> From what I know, real attachment disorder includes some pretty extreme behavior, like inappropriate attachments--feeling you're going to die without a person you've only recently met, e.g.. I don't know you, but it doesn't sound like the things you listed are enough.
I'M DEFINITLY NOT THAT EXTREME, NO IRRATIC BEHAVIOR FROM ME. I'M SHY W/ MEN, LACKING RELATIONSHIP OPPORTUNITIES (IF I APPROVE) I THINK DEPRESSION OBVIOUSLY AFFECTS THE WHOLE RELATIONSHIP THING FOR ME.
> I get that anxious emptiness too. It is also a characteristic of a lot of diagnoses less extreme than attachment disorder. Like you, it's helped considerably with medication, and it's also helped by having a therapist who is consistently there for me. I am 33, and I can't say I haven't had a serious relationship, but I've certainly had some pretty messed up ones, and nobody's ever suggested I have attachment disorder. The most is BPD, and most other people have thought even that's a little extreme.I'M GLAD TO KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE WITH ANXIOUS EMPTINESS. AND THANKS FOR YOUR ENCOURAGING WORDS.
