Hello and welcome!
It's an issue that I think many of us grapple with. They're seeing us for money and if we didn't pay them they wouldn't see us. So how can they care?
Yet people do care about one another, even in a professional setting. And this setting is so very intimate, it seems natural that personal feelings would be involved. My therapist once said that if he didn't care about someone, he wouldn't be a very good therapist to them. I'm still thinking that one over.
Teachers care about their students, and somehow that isn't nearly as hard to believe. Maybe because it isn't as direct a transfer of money?
After all these years, I really do know that my therapist cares about me on many levels. Yet that money thing keeps tripping me up too, even now.
