Cindy,
Have you ever read "Motherless Daughters: A legacy of Loss" by Hope Edelman? My cousin sent it to me after I lost my mother. (She lost both her parents in a plane crash when she was in her early 20s.) It's a good book. Covers a lot not only about women who lost their mothers early but also about women whose mothers were not always there for them.
As Noa said you need to be patient with yourself. My psychiatrist pointed out a month or so ago that I still have symptoms of grief that pop up unexpectedly and it's been two years. I didn't realize the feelings I had were from grief.
My mother would have been 65 tomorrow (10/11). She died in July but her memorial service (I just realized) was two years ago today. Time flies whether you're having fun or not.
Take care,
Allison
