This sounds like my relationship with my pdoc. He also trusts me on the doseage and has been willing to try just about anything I suggest. Best of all, he realizes that medications have a down side and doesn't push meds on me like my two previous pdocs. He says "Not taking medications has side effects. Taking medications has side effects. It's up to you to choose which side effects you prefer."
When he didn't know anything about Asperger's, he admitted it at once, asked me a lot of questions about it, told me that he really ought to know more about it, and promised to find out more before our next appointment. He said he wasn't qualified to diagnose it. But I like the way he openly admitted it, and was open to finding out more about it.
