research study

HI,

I have recently been involved with a magnet research study. The study involved going under magnetic stimulation while under anesthesia.

I would be required to be in the hospital for 4 weeks.

I went up and checked into the hospital for several days, and then got freaked out, and left the hospital because I was afraid of the treatment because I didn't know what it would be like going under anesthesia and then waking up possibly freaked out. The principle investigated got all upset, but told me to call when I was ready to come back in. She was very hostile, and I'm not sure she wants me back in the study.

I'm also afraid of being confined in the hospital for a month.

The only other place I could it is much further away but would only require me to be in the hospital for a week.

My pdoc said the further study would be better because I wouldn't be confined and it would be easier on my anxiety. I've called over there several times but so far they don't seem that interested.

Now I'm not sure what to do.

Any thoughts anyone?
