Anyone on here practice (formally) Yoga? I've heard some incredible things achieved by this from even a few friends who where able to change their lifestyles around quite a bit. (None with serious mental health disorders..but help with kicking smoking and cutting back (not eliminating) pain medication).A few have also hired a Personal Fitness Trainer..some of the same folks I mentioned above. One of my friends admits he *hates* doing heavy cardio workouts at the gym (and even some running), but his Personal Trainer gets him to do it at not constant, but regular intervals.
Before all of this medication stuff, about 10 or so years ago, I had lost about 70 pounds through exercise and very *exact* calorie counting (I had a calculator that would measure each piece of food I ate..and charts to tell me how much physical fitness I would need to burn it off.) I looked and even felt pretty good. (Pretty dang good if you don't mind me saying..:-)
Now even some of my friends who live very *indulgent* lifestyles have really kept themselves in top shape with these things, and they are in their 50's. So I *really* think any of us, with the proper support, knowledge, and training, could benefit from this stuff. In the past 6-7 years, and I am only 33, I have basically spent my idle time sleeping, or too afraid to go outside. Maybe with some coaching and training..that could change. Kinda like a 'Therapist for the physical body'.
Thoughts?
Thanks....
