Sorry to hear about your insulin resistance. My doctor really likes the high protein, low glycemic index diets like Sugarbusters. But I must confess that I'm not overly enthusiastic.
So far I've managed to lose some weight by not eating the things that are worst for me. But I can't quite bring myself to eat the things that are good for me, so I'm ending up not eating all that much, which isn't good for my diabetes either I suppose.
Did your doctor give you any specific recommendations or suggest a dietician? My husband wants to take my doctor up on a dietician but I don't really see the use. It's not that I don't know what I should and shouldn't eat. I just can't bring myself to follow through. Not eating at all, or eating just one meal a day and a couple of snacks, seems less unappealing.
