Hmmm. I'm trying to remember if I purchased a Klingon language book at one of the Trek conventions I attended. Sounds like an interesting job. But I doubt I'm the best qualified for the job.
Those conventions were great. In addition to Star Trek stuff, there was all sorts of old TV memorabilia for sale. That's where I got my life sized Get Smart cardboard Maxwell Smart from that wonderful movie, The Nude Bomb. It still waves its cardboard gun over my daybed, next to my vintage Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork hangers.
But boy, was I impressed. They showed still shots from a number of episodes. Everyone of course easily identified them. Near the middle they showed a rather generic shot of a phaser in the back of a red security shirt. About half the audience correctly got the correct episode, to the befuddled amazement of the presenter.
Ah those were the days. I'll have to watch the paper for upcoming ones. Of course, I know nothing about the later series so perhaps it wouldn't be as much fun as it used to be.
Thanks for the memory, Oddipus.
