Ed,
I have full CD recordings of all of Vivaldi's violin concerti and used to adore them. For many years, my wife and I would buy 2 CDs a week, usually selected based on recommendations by reviewers in Gramophone or Fanfare. That way, we slowly built up a library of about 1400 classical CDs.
Unfortunately, depression has kept me from being able to enjoy music for the last 10 years or more. Most of the time, I find even my favorite recordings irritating and, well, depressing. Surely the loss of ability to enjoy music is one of the most cruel forms of anhedonia.
But I do recall the joy of discovering that the "Four Seasons" were framed by other movements, and that there were the other concerti as well, including the wonderful L'estro Armonico. I'm glad for you that you can enjoy them!
With kind regards,
Mark H.
