Whew! Went in to have my root canal sealed and a post fitted, and the dentist had both of my 2 crowns ready to insert, a week ahead of schedule. I was able to get everything done in a single visit.
What a huge relief. At one point the guy really did have BOTH hands in my mouth at the same time as when he asked me a question.
I am *so* happy this is over. It seemed like a really big deal. I worked for a dentist for a year (she was pretty horrible dentist - very poor chairside manner) and I remember that the patients seemed to appreciate my empathy. Gosh, when you have bad teeth, you can really relate to others' problems. Everything costs so much money, and there are always multiple appointments. Even today I was trembling in the chair, although there was no pain. So much anticipation, you know?
Sigh.
