Yes!
Over here (at least)
techno / dance / trance music hit the gay bars way before it hit mainstream.
And made decent use of strobe lighting
(Before they had to tone it down because of the seizure issue...)
I used to go clubbing with one of my mates when I was about 16.
They would let us in because it was a gay bar, my friend was gay, and it used to be fairly much the only place gay people could socialise back then.
It was great.
Really.
Amazing to be able to go out and not be oggled by guys at all.
Some of the women were a little on the scarey side...
But it was all good really.When I was in Canberra...
Same saga.
If you want good dance / trance music
And not to be oggled
(As a girl at any rate)
