Pindolol is a beta-blocker and a 5-HT1a agonist, which makes it special. The reason why eludes me right now (rebound dementia from quitting nicergoline?). Fortunately I do remember taking it (and still have a packet in my cupboard somewhere). It was one of the few drugs that actually brought on a panic attack, obviously a paradoxical reaction but scary nevertheless.
Just remembered, pindolol is sometimes used to augment antidepressants because of the 5-HT1a agonist thingy, like buspirone and some atypical antipsychotics.
