~ ~ Jeez Phillipa - you're really stepping forward for some teasing with that statement on this thread!!!!!!

Seriously, what type of snake? The only poisonous ones we have are Massasauga rattlesnakes & it's been decades since anyone has died from a bite from one. I was told by a Park official at Killbear Prov Pk that a bite from one hurts like the devil, but when you go to hosp they have you sit there for a couple of hours to see how you are & if you're okay, they let you go home!

Do you have many poisonous snakes there? I think I remember a former Babbler who was a neighbour of yours saying that she didn't take her dog for a walk in the forest because of poisonous snakes?

Where did you see it? On your property?

Kath (can you tell I'm fascinated by snakes? My kids used to have various ones as pets.....Very small ones - one was about 4 inches long & skinnier than a pencil. He was SO cute. If you held him on your palm he'd sometimes curl up & if you put your other fingers gently on him he'd go to sleep! SO cute.
