It has been said, somewhere, that 10 is the happiest age and 44 the unhappiest. This certainly rings true for me. 10 was before the dreaded self consciousness of tweenhood, and before the angst of teenhood. 44 was the year of my life when I slid into the most dreadful abyss of depression I have known. Now, staring 50 down the barrel, Im dealing with aches and pains such as I have never known. But, Im psychologically "all there", and mental health, feeling content, means the world to me, now.
