I like them when something less than 1/2 1/2 and more than 2 per cent (I don't know what to call these things) is heated and aerated to the consistency of thickened cream and basically folded into espresso to make a regular sized (metric) cup.
Good luck finding that, though.
I can't make it like that, even when I do have access to a machine. I guess it is like sandwiches... Some things taste so very very much better when someone else makes them for us.
At home I grind beans every day or day and a half so they are fresh-ish. I'm fastidious about cleaning rancid oils out of everything with detergent. I use a french press / plunger and a little milk.
I prefer stove-tops but I don't have one and haven't had a stove before to do that, so... I do think they taste better but I suppose I am mostly impatient for coffee and it's more about getting done with breakfast and getting on with the day.
I have seen an electric stove top once. I would quite like one of those, I think.
We don't have drip machines. I would quite like one, actually. Someone I knew used to be able to set it at night so that it is ready on a timer so you literally wake up and go get freshly brewed coffee. If you can palate drip coffee, I mean.
I have been tempted... But then you gotta buy filters for them and I try and minimise ongoing costs if I can help it...
