Hi people. I have been off the Zoloft for 2 months now (taking it for anxiety/IBS). I was doing great up until a week ago - good guts, anxiety under control. Then last Monday I talked to my dad about getting my wisdom teeth out (all 4 come out this Friday) and he is such a negative dude - he put the fear of God into me and I gave myself a nice anxiety attack. That same day my mom was in a car accident (she's OK). These 2 things along with my dread of the oral surgery sparked my anxiety and brought my IBS back - stomach aches bad, nausea, etc.
So I've been taking Ativan (low doses - like .5mg or 1 mg per day or every second day). Now I'm afraid I'm going to have to go back on Zoloft.
I'm hoping that after the surgery - I'll settle back down (assuming nothing goes wrong). But I don't know - what if this has started a recurrence of IBS/anxiety that will stay with me?
Should I wait until after the surgery and see? Will I become addicted taking 1 mg of Ativan for 2 weeks daily?
This sucks.
