I also posted this to regular vanilla PsychoBabble, but I thought it would also be appropriate in this forum. Most of us who post here take some drug, whether legal or illegal, or both. True and factual reporting in the news, rather than finger-wagging by uneducated reporters, would be a noble goal.
The reporting is non-judgmental and de-bunks myths about alcohol and drug addiction. There are some great links at the bottom of the page referenced above. So scroll down for the list.
The web site <stats.org> as a whole takes "commom knowledge" asserted in the mass media - in this case on meds research, addiction, and on alcoholism and alcohol abuse - and does the research to expose the slanted messages we're hearing on CNN and the NYTimes, etc. etc. The site covers more than just meds and addiction issues, too, so go to the home page while you're there. It's an election year. Check 'em out.
Best,
Wendy
