Perhaps you have increased intercranial pressure, also known as pseudo-tumor cerebre. It is a build-up of spinal fluid inside the skull and is worse with the positions I mentioned. The tinnitis seems to "zing" from side to side across the back of your head when you lie down. The symptoms are relieved by having a spinal tap which removes a little of the fluid and allows things to return to normal. The problem is finding a doctor to diagnosis it, as it is very rare (about 1/100,000 pop.). I had similar problems 2 yrs. ago when doctors were playing their idiot medication games. Finally got a neuro-otologist who made the diagnosis, but then I had to find a neurologist who would agree to order the tap. As far as I know, the only sure test is the spinal pressure measurement that they should take when they actually do the tap. In my case, the symptoms went away after one tap, except for the tinnitis which I still get when I lie down. The tap wasn't bad; by the time I had it I was soooo ready I couldn't wait. The same Yahoo site that hosts Psycho-Babble also hosts a pseudo-tumor cerebre site which was very helpful for me. If you are in the Dallas area, I can give you the name of the neuro-otologist. Good luck!

I have had dizziness, cloudy head and dazed feeling 24/7 for 1 year. Has anyone had these same feelings. I was put on Klonopin after having dizzy spells that could not be diagnosed. had MRI's, EKG, Blood work, Vertigo treatment you name it. The Klonopin helped but now it doesn't so I wanted to go off it. I feel awful all the time. Oh finally dr. said I must have anxiety, well yea of course I do after going through this. Has anyone had similar symptoms?
