Oh goody. I get to share a little nugget of wisdom from my T.
"Alcohol is a wonderful anti-depressant. But it has some bad side effects, including... depression"
yeah. Alcohol is a powerful medication. Unfortunately, the body develops a tolerance for it, and so does the mind. It does some bad things to the human body when taken in excess. Yeah, we all know this.
I have found that alcohol causes me a lot more fatigue during the day than I used to remember. I guess my body is getting older. ugh. Well, so many good reasons to NOT drink. What are your reasons for cutting back on Zyprexa? How do the pros and cons favor one lifestyle vs. another?
Maybe you can talk to pdoc about switching around some of your meds. I talked to my pdoc about self-medicating with alcohol and got an Rx to substitute. Klonopin. Pdoc said that the side effects of klonopin are much less dangerous than the side effects of alcohol (depression, toxicity, dependence, etc...)
plus, my health insurance covers meds, doesn't cover the bar tab.
