Good luck. I think bethanecol is a bad bet though. Bethenacol increase choline levels and thereby increases periphereal acetycholine. Ineffecive in Alzheimer's disease because it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. I don't think MAOIs affect acetycholine however. The problem most likely has something to do with increase serotonin. Worth a try of course, especially when one already has the script.

Because I LOVE Nardil and there is a chance the anorgasmia will fix itself (After around 8 weeks of constipation I am now starting to go to the toilet) If it doesn't I'm sure medicine will enable me to orgasm.

Ace,
Nardil, 90mg.

I have found anorgasmia resolves with time on Nardil. It can sometimes take 3 months. Otherwise, I'm guessing that using cyproheptadine (Periactin), amantadine (Symmetrel), or methylphenadate (Ritalin) might be of help. You can use them as a PRN and take them 30-60 minutes before sex. Periactin might be a better choice at night if Ritalin keeps you awake. Ritalin might be a better choice during the day if Periactin makes you sleepy.

Bethanechol totally cured my anorgasmia, constipation and urinary retention on Nardil. However, as a female I have different plumbing. Switching to Parnate however, also got rid of all of the above with some added pleasant side effects.
Good Luck

For me, the constipation, urinary retention and lack of orgasm was due to (for a lack of a better term) a state of temporary pelvic paralysis. I wasn't able to contract my muscles in that region in order to push or squeeze and thus the aformentioned dillema's. The Bethanechol (I'm pretty sure that's what it was) allowed for a return to normal functioning.

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY

Bethanechol chloride acts principally by producing the effects of stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system. It increases the tone of the detrusor urinae muscle, usually producing a contraction sufficiently strong to initiate micturition and empty the bladder. It stimulates gastric motility, increases gastric tone, and often restores impaired rhythmic peristalsis.

Stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system releases acetylcholine at the nerve endings. When spontaneous stimulation is reduced and therapeutic intervention is required, acetylcholine can be given, but it is rapidly hydrolyzed by cholinesterase, and its effects are transient. Bethanechol chloride is not destroyed by cholinesterase and its effects are more prolonged than those of acetytcholine.

Effects on the GI and urinary tracts sometimes appear within 30 minutes after oral administration of bethanechol chloride, but more often 60-90 minutes are required to reach maximum effectiveness. Following oral administration, the usual duration of action of bethanechol is one hour, although large doses (300-400 mg) have been reported to produce effects for up to six hours. Subcutaneous injection produces a more intense action on bladder muscle than does oral administration of the drug.
