On 100 mg's of lamicatal and 75 of effexor. the lamictal I started three weeks ago but the effexor only about 5 days. How long does it take?
I'm not new to meds and was on prozac for years and it helped I guess within two weeks.. in my depression the big thing is bombarding negative thoughts that just paralize me with anxiety. when I start to feel better it's easier to push those thoughts away. I just need some encouragement that there is room for improvement yet.thanks,
Rainee

Hi, Rainee. When I started effexor it took a long time for me to feel the full benefit of it - almost 12 weeks. I stuck with it, though, and my negative thoughts and anxiety have been improved quite a bit. I'm also taking wellbutrin, xanax and ambien.
Good luck - it was a long haul for me.

At 75 I seem to be fine . A few nights I was waking up on and off but last night I slept through. the 150 packed to much of a punch to start off with, so my Dr backed it down for me.
But you know how it is when your depressed you fear you'll never get any better.. I have to keep reminding myself I've been here before and have come out. I have an idea how I got here. I finally accepted I'm bipolar and stress good or bad can effect me. I have lots of changes to make in my life and became overwhelmed and very frightend.
of course these are therapy issues that I need to address.Rainee :)

> Raineerainee, you'll be fine...there are many, many posters who can provide valuable information for your meds - as well as personal support - and it appears as if you are tolerating things quite well. as with any of these drugs and combinations, it takes time to feel the effect, and depends to a degree on the medication and the person's unique biochemistry.....you sound great, keep us posted! all the best, chemist
