Ultram works for me Great as an Antidepressant, Although since its not classified as one...i don't think I can get a script easily. I've read that Effexor and Cymbalta are comparable...
Any thoughts on this?...I tried Effexor and it didn't work at all...
Thanks

jakekat,
My experience has been that Ultram can work well short term but tolerance rapidly develops if you are using it daily. It may have additional potential, I don't know.
warm regards, Jake

I have a friend that almost induced herself a nice serotonin syndrome taking effexor with ultram, albeit way more ultram than therapeutically prescribed for anything that I know of. I am really so vague and unsure about this but it has to with both of them being SE and NE reuptake inhibitors. And btw, I find them to be nothing alike as far as how they made me feel.

Yes Donna I think I would be unwise to combine Ultram with an SSRI.
