How could an ssri cause chest pain in someone with a healthy heart? Could it cause coronary vasopasm?

Difficult to say. Vassoconstriction, interaction with other neurotransmitters, direct influence on cardiac muscle via serotonin receptors like 5-ht2b.
Some authors have even gone as far as to suggest that no patient should use SSRI's long term in the advent that they affect the heart in similar ways to drugs such as fenfluramine.

No wonder so many people are having heart attacks. If the SSRI's work they stay on them indefinitely it seems. Love Phillipa

I caution though. No definitive or conclusive data has been collected on the issue. There may or may not exist a link, but we may only see it far down the road.
