I'm guessing it's the Seroquel. Any other similar experiences?

I know that when I took Seroquel 100mg...I could only stay awake for 15 mins before I was out. (I took it at night) it was the only way I could take the medication, that my doctor thought I really needed...during the next day I was pretty much feeling like I was in my own world and that everyone else around me was seperate from me...kind of a depersonalization experience I guess. Don't worry you arent the only one feeling this way..except unfortunately I have felt this way on many meds...(medicines always do the opposite for me compared to someone else.
Goodluck. Seroquel is a great medication...(I used it for my moods plus to help my insomnia which needless to say it did a great job..I would sleep like 15 hours...
Take Care.

I tried it last year for a couple nights at 100mg. It did put me to sleep nicely, but didn't keep me asleep all night.
During the day I had a lot of anxiety so I tried some more. It worked fairly well for a few hours but then wore off and anxiety was back. It also made me much more depressed than I had started, which took me by surprise because I thought it was supposed to be a good antidepressant.
A clear case of how mileage varies.

Hi,
I just read you post and from what I read it sounded like you didn't really have a good response to Seroquel since you say you felt depersonalized, etc. right? I wouldn't consider sleeping 15 hours a day a positive effect (and believe me I love a good sleep) from a med...since that would be spending the majority of your day in bed, which sounds like a problem. Are you still taking it and if not, why did you stop?I am tapering off seroquel, it made me too dizzy with little other discernable effects, although sometimes you don't know what it is doing to you until you stop taking it. I may take just 50 mg at night until I see my pdoc in 2 weeks since I don't want to develop insomnia...

Maybe try 25mg first and then 12.5mg during the day. Hummm doesn't sound much different from xanax. Love Phillipa

Ahh seroquel - legalised cannabis-like high if you take enough, sleep your life away.
Effective anti depressant? well I guess you can't be depressed if you're asleep, can you?
Gave me the worst case of restless legs ever after a while, absolutely unbearable, when I wasn't asleep I was pacing.
This is the end of the thread.
