Hi all,
I'm on a Wellbutrin/Remeron combo, but things are not so great.
I take 150 mg of Wellbutrin and 45 mg of Remeron.Could it be advantageous to increase the Wellbutrin dosage to 300 mg?
Or should I up the dosage of Remeron?
What do you guys think?
Best regards,
Peter Heuer

I think it sort of depends on which one you instinctively feel is maybe doing the most good. If you can't tell, or if you can't really feel them much, or if side effects aren't much, then it really doesn't matter. Flip a coin. I do think though that a dose increase of wellbutrin will pack more of a punch than increasing remeron. If the whole thing really doesn't work out, I wouldn't walk away from it until trying low dose TCA with it. Anafranil or Amitriptyline, maybe Nortriptyline. Adding an SSRI could be a good way to go too, but I personally have more faith in the TCAs. Wellbutrin, Remeron, and TCA in a 3 way cocktail if dose increases don't work good enough. That's probably what I would do in your shoes. Being very sensitive though, my doses would be a lot lower than yours.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply!
I feel anhedonic, but perhaps I must live with this as a trait of personality.
I think that you may have the right answer:
"it really doesn't matter".Remeron and amitriptyline is a combo that cause too much sedation.
Best regards,
Peter Heuer

wellbutrin worked great for a few months and pooped out. Every dose change and retrial since has just given me the same results.
zoloft has been working pretty good. At the high end of the dose range it does a tiny bit of DRI.

I think it is definitely worth trying a boost in Wellbutrin dosage. The max dose for Wellbutrin XL is 450mg, so you are nowhere near that. I would not be surprised if you felt good for a while at 300mg, only to have it poop out again after a while. But you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
