Neurontin, Remeron, or Seroquel? And how much? Either in clinical studies or personal experience.

I hate to say it, but...I think it depends. Seroquel isn't as fatty-making as zyprexa or clozapine. Actually, some of the older APs can cause weight gain, too. Dosage would be an issue. Some docs say that mood disordered people experience more weight gain (and more TD).
Remeron...I hear it depends on the dose. Lower=more sedation and more weight gain. Higher=less sedation, less weight gain, I even read it can be activating.
Neurontin=I never had weight gain on neurontin. These days, I only take (max) 300mgs/day. Its just for agitation, as an add on to my main 3 meds in my anti-crazy cocktail. Back in the day, I took 900+/- mgs/day in combo with Klonopin for severe anxiety. No weight gain then, either, but I did feel "loopy" and weirdly uneasy.
OK. That's pretty much all I have for you.

I have personally taken Remeron. Before I began taking it I was 155 lbs and 8 months later I was 212 lbs. I have since lost the weight and I'm at 155 lbs again, but I lost a lot of muscle in the process, so I have a stomach that sticks out and makes me look like a sick african child. I wouldn't recommend Remeron or Seroquel. They both have the same mechanism of action, so I'm going to assume they have the same side effects. Remeron and Seroquel both block histamine and histamine controls appetite. Without histamine controlling your appetite, you go wild, eat everything in sight and not in sight. I knew nothing about calories before I had to lose the Remeron weight. If I had to estimate the amount of calories I was putting down a day once I started Remeron at 155 lbs, I'd say I was consuming 3200 to 3500. It was unbelievable.

When I was taking Zyprexa, every thought I had during the day involved food and the desire to eat. It was crazy.

Wow, that's crazy. It completely changed what foods I liked.

Seroquel is most likely to cause weight gain. This is based on studies and personal experience.
