Can someone explain what they are/do?
I'm interested in bodybuilding and I've read that BCAA's should be taken post-workout for muscle recovery. In my reading on depression as well, I think I've seen BCAA's mentioned. What is the connection? Are they useful in treating depression?

The Branched-Chain Amino Acids are leucine, isoleucine and valine.

They inhibit protein turnover....which would supposedly increase the ratio of protein formation: protein degradation....you'd bulk up quicker, and feel less "day after pain".
