I'll be going to see them this Monday for the initial evaluation. I did a lot of research on them, including all of the posts here on Babble. To me it just makes a lot of sense that a body can't function properly if it doesn't have the right balance of essential nutrients.

I seem to fall into different "Pfeiffer" catagories when comparing the symptom profiles. So, I am curious to see what they will find.

I suffer from PD and depression with mild OCD.

The nurse, I spoke to on the phone, told me that they will do an extensive evaluation on Monday which includes family history, previous illnesses, all kinds of other questions that will give them clues, a physical exam, blood work, urine test, and hair analysis.

According to this (without the test results), they will start you on a preliminary regimen. Once they get the test results (ca. 4-6 weeks from original appointment) they will finetune your treatment.

I'll keep you posted on my experience, if you'd like.

yes, please keep us posted..thanks (nm)

I was surprised to see this post, considering I just sent my initial patient form in Friday. I am also very interested in feedback from people who have gone there.

okay, call me shallow but I am intregued by the name. It's part of the same family as Flatley....in Gaelic would be
"O Flaithfhileadh" which means "decendant of the prince poet". I love the name and was interested in your take on this.

Pfeiffer was a complete waste of time, money and effort for me. Pfeiffer sucks.
Hope it's more worthwhile to whomever else here goes.

Please tell why. I have an appointment in April, and $1000 on the line.

Had my appointment on Monday. They collected all the samples (hair, urine, blood), had a complete physical done plus an intensive interview with one of their nurses.

As I said before, I seem to be all over the place concerning their categories. However, they gave my what they call a "Primer" to start with until the results come in. It contains Vitamin C, E, large amount of Manganese and Copper.

I took this supplement twice along with some of my other supplements (Pfeiffer said it was ok to continue them) and got an extreme reaction. I got real shaky, a bad headache (usually I never get headaches), anxious, and my jaw felt ridgid - I felt like jumping out of my skin.

My gut tells me that it is probably the extra amount of Manganese (8.5mg in addition to my 4mg from Multi). I had a hair analysis done a few years ago and my manganese levels were high. Maybe we're on to something.

McPac:
I have followed most of your previous posts concerning Pfeiffer and if I remember correctly, you were undermethylated plus Pyrolle disorder.

So you didn't have any success at all with their supplementation? Did they ever get your histamine levels down? What excactly was the regimen they put you on?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am a little worried now.

Thanks for your response.

Sorry for the late reply to this post. I have a question about the blood tests they order. Can't you save money and have them done for free if you get a slip from your own physician? Assuming you have a cooperative physician (or just nag him or her until he relents), I think you could save a lot of money.

I would like to hear from anybody who has been to Pfeiffer since the last entry in this thread. As a physician in Ireland I have found the information I have acquired from them to be of great benefit to the majority of my psychiatric patients. It has been a source of great professional and personal satisfaction to me to see many people who were generally regarded as quite hopeless cases doing well and often getting back to work.
