I'm wondering if someone can tell me if inositol supplementation would reduce the benefits I have derived from lithium or whether it might improve them.
*Please don't move this to the alt. board if that's okay. I think it warrants staying here since I'm really asking about the physiological effects of lithium on biological inositol as well.
Thanks!

I think we got into this discussion before, or perhaps it was somebody else.
Some people purport that inositol would reduce the side effects of lithium, but others state that inositol depleation is responsible for the therapudic effect. Let me know if you reach any conclusions.

I seem to her it both ways. Part of the confusion stems from the diference from inositol and myoinositol.

It was me. (Great question Jaby!).
In response to your other question/ uncertainty, "I seem to hear it both ways. Part of the confusion stems from the diference from inositol and myoinositol": they are both one and the same (i also asked this question awhile back, too). "Inositol is just the short form of "Myoinositol".
But yes, please inform us when you come to any conclusions. Off the top of my head, i would suspect that inositol would not squelch the benefits of lithium, since i believe that lithium has several other effects besides inositol depletion-- such as glutamate inhibition, which seems like it could be quite positive/ beneficial (and which i just learned about recently from someone on this board).
This is the end of the thread.
