Binaural beats

Posted by lostforwards on February 23, 2005, at 0:31:16

Has anyone ever tried using binaural beats to treat their symptoms? Over time I think/hope(cause it'd be cool if it does) it *might* have a long term impact on brain activity... maybe? Would it?

It may be worth looking into. I read someone's personal account, comment in a blog or something, that it worked for them after repeated use.

Some people also say they can "learn" states and trigger them... I was thinking this was like those microwave mind control machines that can learn states and induce them in someone remotely...if you believe in that sort of stuff but I digress.

I also heard somewhere that slower brainwaves are involved in emotions. I wonder what would happen if you bridged the beta and delta states. Is that possible to simultaneously be in a delta state and beta state?

it is the only one i've found that works on delta and beta at the same time....other than the later stages of more cxpensive programs.....

it did seem to help me, but it took some time

I bought the "Insight" CD set off the mercola.com site and tried it several times. I don't know if I was imaginging this because I am hypersensitive and quite anxious, but everytime I listened to the CD with the binaural beats, I became very, very anxious. My anxiety level would just gradually increase while I had the headphones on and the CD playing. There is an interesting thread on here from a couple of years ago about binaural beats if you do a search. It lists some websites where you can download different binaural beat sets. Also links to that the incident in Japan a couple of years ago where binarual beat type visual thing on Pokeman cartoon sent dozens of people to the hospital with seizures. Kind of scare.

Good luck,
Chris

both the insight and holosych cd's in the beginning, but it was short lived and bearable....i took it to be some sort of realignment ? of the nervous system, and after a while it passed and i felt i was getting some good from the insight cd
i did see the pokemon study a while back, but thought it was most likely the visual element that was causing the problem, not the auditory one
you could try the cd with something calming like kava or niacinamide
best,

Joebob:

Ah, so you've tried the Insight CD. I'm just curious: Did it do anything for you? I mean, specifically, what did you notice after using it for a while? I mean, when you say "getting some good," what type of "good" did you get from the Insight CD? Just curious.

I have used binaural beats, at least ones that I created on my computer.

Some effect, not quite like a drug, but I certainly think there is effect.

Basically I felt that it seemed to reduce my anxiety levels, and seemed to make me feel less depersonalized, Ie more in my body.

I asked ppl there about a difficult time I had with Holosync CD and anxiety.

Thread is called Please Help - Bad Reaction to Meditation CD.

Would appreciate anyone else's opinion on what happened to me, and the thread may provide insight to those with queries.
