This whole thread will likly be redirected,HOWEVER it is a medication in germany, just to state, again it is a merch drug or was till recently.

That said curious what brand u got, after the liver scare, which did come back un proven, however that isnt touted much,a overhwelming majority of manf lost so much they pulled and wont be comming back.

If i know kava,in the states,there is

Vitamin Shoppes brand
Kavatrol brand
Eccentic instititute
And another something pharmacy its orange.

Anyway kava hits 15 sites at one time, its a adaprtogen, meaning it like ginko is believed to seek out problem areas and work there mostly,it is calming to the body and mind, but in a way that usualy unlike valerian isnt sedating,if its working for you.......VISIT VAULT OF EROWID and youll find the most amazing stuff on kava.

Please share ur brand as ill never give the herb up fully.

I took kava kava to relieve anxiety at one time. Doesnt the liquid form have alcohol? I used to put a bunch of drops on my toungue. It helped in the old days for me, but now I need the benzo. I think Id throw up if I tasted that stuff again. Bleah.

I've found that GAIA is consistent and lists the amount of kavalactones per dose. This is important so you're not just getting some pill that lists how many mg at most of Kava.

The liquid form of GAIAs extract is potent.

Only the first four are worth value.

However, 1) I have a high tolerance due to crosstolerance from benzodiazepines and no longer get the "giggles" from occasional use of Kava, which I can best describe as a very mild Xanax towards the alcohol spectrum, and 2) the liquid form is intense concentrated herb and a drop means a drop in kavalactones and you will have to be prepared for a cardboard-ginger taste which is about what I can sum it up.

I would not take it regularly due to hepatotoxicity issues, especially if one is on polypharmacy. An occasional use is probably but inconclusively not harmful.

Lol if anyone actualy followed that thread long ago, they would have seen times over i NEVER spoke in regard to your character phillipa,i instead made the mistake of taking a situation in wich i were in what i would want done and appying it to you.

I know a person who reads here, most prob know her,and she will tell me hey i see you posting a lot on babble, cause she knows my feeling towards making this too much of a social situation, and ill take her words come here, see she was right and try to cease for a while.

Thats what i did with u,i did it first privatly but like Dr Bob in not so many words explained to me is whats one persons view might not be everyones, that aside i again never insulted you as a person,i do think its scary that words on a board from a stranger can make anyone so upset, life is not gonna hold its punches, and perhaps i think like this because ive usd groups since i was 22 and ive had the worst of the worst to deal with and no moderation, the only time i can see this happening is when im in a rare self loathing phase, but at this time anything period can make me feel inferior. Its just extreme illogical thinking then.

To answer your question, people have and do,but no definatly not,i would not use a benzo and kava with no stimulant, ive added the smallest pieace of a benzo with kava and a anti depressant combo but that was just enough to hold the external anxiety such as the shaking etc,but to swallow a tab of xanax and then klonopin wont be a very nice feeling.

St johns wort,a herb with both ssri and maoi like effects is usualy found combined with kava kava.

Its extracted with aclholol which means pure ethanol was used in the making some where down the line but was then discarded mostly.

Many supplements need ethanol to help conversions, however usualy a 5 percent is left or lower, and now actualy most companys are trying to stick to water based extracts which are very un potent.

But the acholol isnt there to add to the herb, instead just to make it known to the customer that trace, very small amounts might still be in it,also since alcholol is so poetent its also use to tout the product since the acholol extracted ones will be more potent because the acholol did a better job at whatever it is that is being done to finish the product, but its not to be looked at as a addition to the product.

I know what you mean about life doesn't hold any punches, and how it's scary how someone could be offended by words here. I heard some non-supportive words today (not online) that have upset me ever since, and it's forced me to confront the fact that I don't have enough of a core love and regard for myself, so that I am constantly adjusting my opinion of myself based on my latest achievement (or nonachievement), slight (or notice). Anyhow, I'm not sure what you had said to Phillipa (someone who radiates love and positive energy here, something I aspire to) that might have been misconstrued. Perhaps it's because life doesn't hold any punches that we come here, to what is usually such a supportive place, in the midst of the sniping and snarkiness that takes over so many other corners of the Web. It's good we hold our punches here. Life has given all of enough of a beating, I'm sure.

As for kava, it used to be tremendously relieving for anxiety, but I just bought the GAIA brand recently. Even after taking as many as four capsules, I felt nothing. I don't feel as though I've taken Benzos for that long in my life, but perhaps I have altered my chemistry with them. As for an herb that works for me, rhodiola rosea has been absolutely great for focus and energy. The best supplement I've taken. Now I just need to find something for sleep that doesn't leave me groggy and depressed the next day.
