Hello All
I hope this finds everyone in good health! I have not been sleeping very well for the last 6 days or so. I could not be eating better and have been taking Borage Seed Oil, Salmon Oil and MSM for about 3 weeks. The difference as I said in an earlier post has been amazing. I have been feeling more balanced and much calmer. Less depressed Yeh! The sleep thing is a problem because as you would all know you start to feel pretty brittle, emotional and cranky. I do feel as though I am running a little on the high side which I have not felt for quite a while. This could be a result of Doctor dropping my anti-depressant in favour of two mood stabelizers. Although they should keep me on the straight and narrow. My question is if anyone has had sleeping problems while they are on the oils? I guess it could be the MSM as well and will have to look into this today. As always your help would be greatly appreciated.
Taking 2000mg of Salmon Oil and 1000mg of Borage Seed Oil. Maybe I should drop the amounts a little and see if this makes a difference.

What time of day are you taking them? Some people on here have said that fish oil in particular keeps them awake if they take it too late in the day.
I take borage oil before I go to bed without it keeping me awake. MSM might be the energizer.
My first guess would be the meds though.

Hi thereThanks so much for coming back to me. It could be any one of those things so I have decided to change things around a little and see if that makes a difference. Don't really want to drop the mg of fish oil I am taking because it was working so very well before the sleep problems. The MSM is great for energy but I might not need that if I am running high. I could be barking up the wrong tree with all of this. Stress does set off my Hypomania and there has been a bit of that around at the moment. Maybe the stabelizers are not giving me enough coverage. The only drugs that ever killed off the Hypomania completly were a combination of Tegratol, Efexor and an antipsychotic. They almost killed off any personality I had! Bit of a science all this! I will keep plodding!
Thanks again

It could be that your body is adjusting to your new medication regimen. Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe the sleep problem will resolve in time. I take my fish and borage oils early in the day, first the fish oil in the morning with my morning meds, and then an hour or two later borage oil. Also, I take an antipsychotic so that might play a big part in how well you sleep. At bedtime, I take a combination of vitamins to help me with sleep.
500mg Niacin
300IU of natural vitamin E
50mg of P5P (B6)
1/4 of a 3mg melatonin tablet
300mg of calciumFor me, I have to at least take these five vitamins at bedtime to help me sleep, but I've also added a broad-based amino acid complex taken at bedtime, and this does help further with my sleep. I'm not saying an amino acid complex is absolutely necessary, but for some odd reason it tends to help me with sleep, but I guess you could say that about a lot of supplements out there on the market.

Dear LaoThanks for your message. I have started taking my oils earlier and it has made a difference. Still not sleeping as well as I would like and I can't remember the last time I woke feeling refreshed and ready to go. I am going to take a leaf out of your book and see if that makes some sort of difference. The antipsychotic I use to take had me sleeping like a baby but they don't give that to me anymore. Bit of bad luck that!
