Hello!
My doctor gave me a methylated B-complex formula that has 600mg of TMG in it. The first day I felt pretty good. The second day I felt a slump in the afternoon. The third day I was OK. The fourth day I felt a low-grade despair in the late afternoon, that went away after taking a little holy basil. I've been reading a lot about methylation (I'm going to be taking a test soon to learn more about how my body processes methyls) and TMG seemed like a great way to give me a little boost, plus help with homocysteine levels. In any case, has anyone else had this reaction? If so, should I just stick with it and see if it goes away? When looking at the over vs. under methyl symptoms, I seem to have a little of both. Inositol, for the few times I tried it, made me irritable (like tyrosine, yet oddly phenylalanine works great for me) but my neurotransmitter test definitely showed me low in serotonin. Thanks!

I read somewhere that TMG is NOT indicated if you are Overmethylated (Histapenia), but could be helpful for those who are Undermethylated (Histadelia).

I'm having a test done to see whether I am over- or under-methylated. I think, if anything, I am undermethylated. I don't think I boast "too much" serotonin (I wish!).
I have, since posting, not had the depression issue with TMG. I have added B6 to my routine which I think helped. I am wondering if the TMG needed B6 to do its thing, leaving me with less? My only issue now is sleep, though it's hard for me to pin that on the TMG as it's been a near life-long issue for me anyhow. I might try a smaller dose and see if that helps, as I do feel a little peppier during the day, especially in the afternoon.
This is the end of the thread.
