Candida experts, please help!

Posted by Lamdage22 on August 10, 2012, at 3:45:13

Hello,

after a phase of severe depression and bad eating habits i am back on the diet.

I take Nizoral (Ketoconazole). How can i support my liver in Detoxing and Functioning? I was planning to take the Nizoral in the morning and something for the liver in the evening. I already take high dose Milk Thistle in the evening.

Which products do you know of that cleanse the liver/gallbladder?

Also how damaging is Nizoral for the Liver? How often should i have my liver checked?

And: How quickly does one feel depression relief?

I will follow up with some more questions but as of now id be glad to get some support with this.

Thanks and Greetings,

Lamdage

How do you know you have candida? How do you know it is causing your depression?

I do not understand the use of Nizoral here. Diflucan is a far better choice in terms of safety. I would say forget the liver gallbladder thing, stay away from such troublesome meds when there are other more popular safer ones that work well. I've been on and off diflucan multiple times and it does the job.

Candida is a long term thing. I would suggest the addition of two supplements. Resveratrol by Paradise Herbs or Source Natural (both made from Polygonum Cupsidatum, common name Japanese Knotweed). The other is berberine. Take these for a few months and you should be all set.

Raw garlic is super potent against candida. Chew a cliove raw toward the end of a meal.

Here's a home test. I didn't believe it was accurate. But in my own experience over many months, it is accurate. First thing in the morning before anything else, gather up a good mass of spit in your mouth and spit into a glass of water. Then watch it for about 5 minutes. If there is a yeast problem, you will see milky trails fall to the bottom. Normal spit just sits on the top of the water. Mine was so bad when I first suspected it that my milky trails were more like milky curtains. Anyway, diflucan [aved the path, did the heavy lifting, and then months of herbs completely cleared it up. Nizoral I don't like that med, too many problems with it. Seems too risky to me when there are better ways.

Hi bleauberry,

Its been diagnosed via Kinesiology and a health practitioner that looked in my mouth said i have it, too.

I will do the spit test tomorrow. Also i will look into berberine and resveratrol.

I am pretty sure about 50% of my depression is caused by candida, by allergies and food intolerances and other environmental factors like electro-smog and chemical sensitivities.

Im going to start a new thread in the meds forum, as i need a go for it strategy as i enter college in January 2013. Lamotrigine has some efficiency but its cognitive side effects arent great. I am looking at a Memantine/Piracetam combo to get in a good state of mind for college

Heres a link to this Med-discussion: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20120818/msgs/1023916.html

Still candida advice is welcomed.

Peace,

Lamdage

Have you tried olive leaf tincture, extract, capsules or olive leaf tea? Anti-fungal properties are well documented. I have been taking for decades to keep warts and foot fungus at bay.
