those things are so freaking weird!
so, I am driving down the highway and it starts to hit....
intense deja vu with feelings of extreme fear (not a panic attack)and I am thinking
I can't drive like this...I can't drive like this
and I think I have to pull over, and the signs (the highway signs)..all the signs I've seen before and all of this I have felt before because I am having deja vu. I was worried it was going to last, or get worse.thankfully the whole thing only lasted about a half a minute or so. I started shaking my hand, as if I could "shake it off".
I used to have similar episodes, usually worse with more weird stuff. no headache this time, just a "weird" feeling in my head.
This is nothing really, but I called my pdoc and left him a message. I figured I want attention right now anyway.Anyone else want to talk about deja vu?

Sounds sort of physical. Have you been checked for seizures? A neurology consult might be in order.
Or... have you had any meds changes lately? I had the most interesting temporal lobe experiences when I went off Luvox, Klonopin, and Depakote all at once. I don't know which was the culprit.
If all those things check out, you might see if your pdoc thinks adding a medication might be helpful?

I have never really had a deja vue experience....only the feeling that comes from a half wrecked memory that won't work properly.
But in social situations the overload can be such that I feel something like Vuja Dei, or whatever they call the opposite when everything goes slow and swimmy, you forgot everyone's name ages before, you are trying to remember how to leave the room.....the last thing to be forgotten is how to drink.
Why/how was what you had frightening?
I know that it was, of course.
Well, you could say, what was frightening for you?I never understood it.
Fear. Isn't it something?

I've had temporal lobe seizures when I'm jet-lagged. Intense deja vu.

never, they don't seem to happen often enough
and when I discuss them with T or pdoc they sometimes allude to them being just anxiety, or some type of dissociative response or regression in the face of some issue that is difficult to face
I got a lot more of them years ago before therapy and before medication

25mgs of seroquel less per night (now back up to 50mgs)
and an extra klonopin .5 on most days probably, total 1 mg/day (now back down to .5mgs/day)
and I recently stopped smoking pot....again

> Well, you could say, what was frightening for you?it is the sensation of being seized, stuck, detached, but something more
everything, absolutely everything is just somehow how it was before, and every thought as you think it is already a repetition
everything I see has been seen exactly the same before, experienced exactly the same way before
the fear is not a reaction to it, it is part of it, pure fear. I can't get myself out of it generally, but I sometimes feel that if I shift my attention somehow I can suck myself back out of it. For a while though, I am just out of it, not able to respond properly.
