This morning I watched my kitchen lace curtain flutter as the north wind blew in. I thought it will soon be time to close the windows for the evening to keep the frosty chill out and let them stay open during the afternoon for a bit to air out the house. Each season brings a transition. And the autumn has such a sweet one, because the children are BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! The northern breeze plucked them right out the door onto the schoolbus. YEAH, I survived!! Now I'm off to hang the clothes out, dryer bit the dust, and then for a long hopefully undisturbed sleep.
CHEERS to all parents sending there little ones off today!

I got to send my kids off to school last week.
I'm always pretty happy to have them back in school, but really wish that summer could continue on just for the adults. I saw some red leaves today - I hate what that portends.

"I am but mad north-northwest: When the wind
is southerly I know a hawk from a handsaw."
Hamlet, II:iiNo particular significance or anything, Willow's post just reminded me of the quote.
BTW Willow, you sound like you're doing well, I hope so.

Willow,
I send my baby off tomorrow morning (she's 10). Such a time of mixed emotions, feel like I spent a lot of good time with her this summer, but it's never enough. Sometimes I wish I could home-school her, the public shcool system doesn't challenge her enough, especially not enough interesting math for her. So if I'm going to try to manage extra math from home, well, maybe I should just do the whole thing...
I'm sure I sound extra crazy for saying that! Sure, I like my freedom when she's not here, but I feel the years moving by far too quickly.
I hope you are well, dearest, and that you will write more...
your friend,
Wendy
