Yeah..I would say that combining the two creates a mess of pharmacological interactions...it's best to avoid E while on any other psychoactive meds (antidepressants or otherwise)...MDMA has a variety of actions in your brian, effecting various neurotransmitters, as does Abilify...

As to why you aren't "feeling" the effects, this is partially due to Abilify competitivly blocking the specific (most likely serotonin) receptors that MDMA utilizes. SSRI users (specifically the more potent SSRIs) also experience an attenuated or completely abolished high when they take MDMA.

From personal experience, in the long run, taking E isn't worth it.

Maybe you have been doing too much E? If you do it close toggether it does not have the same effect.

Im certain her "problem" has more to do with the interaction of both drugs at serotonin receptors (specifically 5ht-1A) and Abilify's moderate affinity for the serotonin reuptake pump, which MDMA competes for.

Even mild SSRIs like trazadone, and drugs that have very little to no effect of the serotonin system (Wellbutrin) can attenuate the positive "empathetic" qualities unique to MDMA
