the doc gave me effexor xr 75mg capsule sa today and after reading the posts I'm afarid to take it. maybe someone can help me. Don't even know if this is the rite med for me. I get panic and stress attacks kinda
sometimes feels like gonna lose it. hands sweat and I get very flush and scared.and feel like I have to go to bathroom. does anyone ever have these feelings? help

The doctor gave you 75 mg, are you currently on 37.5? This better not be the initial dose. You need to start at the initial dose of 37.5, if you are beginning the medication.

I started on 75mg of XR about 5 momths ago, now on 225mg.
I was as sick as a dog for the 1st few day, vomitting etc.
If you can start lower, I would definately advise itAnt

Effexor can be a lifesaver for people with Anxiety. I agree with everyone that 75mg is high to start out with. You can open the capsule and take just half of it with applesauce (or just water like me). Good luck!

There's been a lot of talk about splitting pills... but capsules.. there could be a problem. It's possible (likely?) that in XR some of the beads in the cap are slow and some are fast release. So you won't get a predictable dose by splitting them.
Get the non-slowrelease kind if you're going to split them.
