i empathize with everyone on this board: healthcare is miserable in most places, doctors are unwilling to prescribe drugs that might end up with them in court on the receiving end of a malpractice suit, and so on...but if you are thinking of bringing scheduled substances into your country without a prescription, think again. think about what happens when (not if) you get caught. have kids? off they go....job? questionable....and if your psychiatrist isn't (in your eyes) taking care of you, switch. yes, there are plenty of internet pharmacies out there. but do you think that the valium you get on-line from south africa is really real? do you have the means to do the requisite tests (i.e., do you personally have access to or own a mass-spec and uv-vis spectrophotometer and icp and lc-ms?)...i watched my best-friend go down the tubes thanks to a friendly doctor in miami, florida, who was more than willing to fed-ex vicodin to my pal's home. until the one day when the fed-ex guy was not a fed-ex guy, but a DEA guy. case closed. be proactive with your doctors, and don't risk your *life* on something that you can most likely get a script for if you ask the right questions to a qualified and understanding doctor in your own country......chemist

chemist here...i am aware that paxil cannot be prescribed in the U.K. for patients under the age of 18...is fluvoxamine (luvox) not available in the U.K.?....but in the end, i am puzzled, because your post implies that you are seeking relief from physical pain, and that somehow an SSRI is more appropriate than an analgesic. the doctors don't hand out antidepressants when, say, you've just had your wisdom teeth removed, and psychiatrists don't prescribe hydrocodone as the first-line therapeutic in, say, mood-disorders. what's going on here? if you are suffering from physical pain, then a more powerful analgesic than ultram is appropriate. if the ``pain'' is emotional/mental anguish, then the SSRIs you mention might be of use...please clarify the situation, and with all the best wishes, chemist

Hi..
I have trouble articulating so bear with me : )

I take neurontin 1200mg for suspected bipolar but mostly for anxiety and Celexa 30mgfor depression.
I've been taking 100mg/200mg every other day of ultram for pain .
I'm continuing with the neurontin but on the nhs it is expensive drug to prescribe- also I get the celexa on nhs, patients are limited usually to 1/2 meds unless you pay private.
I'm discontinuing the celexa soon as it is not helping , hopefully my doc will prescribe paxil for my depression...I only get to see him every 12 weeks. If I need a dose increase I go buy online instead of waiting to ask him.
I've been on celexa for over 2 months.
I used to take 225mg of effexor..but after I discontinued my body has joint/muscular pains...and twitching hence the ultram ( this helps only a little-i get this online and suspect it 's uthenticity)
Celexa and paxil are the only ssri's that I haven't tried.
I'm desperate to stop pain and to function.
Sorry, I'm very scatterbrained.
slinky

no, no, nothing to be sorry about. i understand why you are taking ultram now, and body-ache, muscle soreness, and twitching are some common side-effects of anti-depressants, and i see that your neurontin may be contributing to the twitching, but the incidence is not very prevalent.....perhaps you are still getting the effexor blues? have a look at some other posts, and shoot a post specifically for San Panda or SLS or King Vultan, they are more familiar with the SSRIs than i am.....all the best, chemist

yes, there are plenty of internet pharmacies out there. but do you think that the valium you get on-line from south africa is really real?

----
Hi Chemist, do you mean then that what people actually get prosecuted for is the intent?

no, i was commenting that if a person is thinking about mail-ordering scheduled substances for importation into their country without a prescription, they should consider the consequences if/when they get caught. the consequences could range from nothing to getting fraudulant meds to getting thrown in jail. i do not aware of any Orwellian caveats....all the best, chemist
