After quiting for about 5 days cold turkey, lastnight I was the happiest camper, but I couldn't sleep, and this morning I was extremely screwed up, anxiety and fear like nothing before, and lack of sleep, my eye balls were CRACKED red from all the stressing and nervousness and tension!!!!!
but I got some fluoxetine to try from what I read up on your peoples other treaments, also he gave me some ativan for the current state I was in...
HOrrible, horrible.
EFFEX OR (||) OR WHAT, Or go through hell.
I hate drugs, well all the legal ones {LOL, no but mostly anti depressants), the purpose of stopping was so I don't have to take any drugs for several days.

I'm down to about 10mg a day now. I agree, I'm okay in the evenings but the mornings are quite hard to deal with :S I couldn't bring myself to go to college this morning but by 11.00 I felt normal enough to go.
Man quitting cold turkey must be hardcore! My tapering routine is hard enough :)
Well I think I might kick it all tonight. Or maybe just a tiny bit of a pill. I've got some Night Nurse to zonk me out tonight, maybe it will stop the vivid dreams I've been getting. They're not too pleasant.

First off, I'm assuming you were on a higher dose and just quit cold turkey.
You can't just quit Cold Turkey without side effects. Just look at this site and you will see everyone who has done that can barely take it. From what I know, you shouldn't drop more than 37.5/mg every week, and still you get pretty heavey side effects.
I would suggest getting back on at 37.5 mg below your last dose and gradually going down.

I quit cold turkey from 75 mgs........
but...I'm starting to feel better, I take the fluoxetine once in a while now, and I feel much better than I did when I was on effexor and risperdal........ except sometimes its very hard to sleep at night, I keep thinking of too much stuff because I've never felt so good......I've been talking to all my friends and stuff and above all I have been happy, and all my friends have noticed it.....once in a while I'll drink, or take benzo's recreationally here and there.It was like taking all those pills I forgot who I really was anymore...... now I almost feel like the same person I did a few years ago before I started getting depressed. Which was a happy fun out going person.
I'd like to thank Psychobabble, Dr. Bob this whole site which really helped me, with the fluoxetine, which helped and fortunate the doctor new about giving fluoxetine for effexor withdrawals if the patient (me) refused to take effexor again to taper it. And to thank www.erowid.com that opened my eyes, because it was erowid that I first read the experiences of having withdrawals and I was like hell with that. so I just quit and http://www.panic-anxiety.com/panic_attack_symptoms/panic-attack-symptoms.htm that taught me how to relax my neck so I didni't freak out because my jaw was screwed up from excession muscle tension and numbed head
