I am a bit confused by your post.

Are you asking if you are psychotic?

Crazychick, I thought you had been on Effexor and valium in the Past? I never heard you mention remeron before. I thought your therapist visited you at your house? I thought the CBT was working? You seemed alright cause you started your own website didn't you? Sorry to hear you feel so bad now, but I still say you need to at least give some meds a chance. Fondly, Phillipa

CC,

I addressed some of your concerns on the PB Withdrawal board.

I do not believe you are psychotic. You are perhaps suffering from a biological affective disorder accompanied by significant anxiety and rumination.

Are you bipolar? How do you know?

What do you think about all day?

You might benefit greatly from psychotherapy.

I know your doctor has told you to try going without medication; the details for the decision I don't know. However, I think you might benefit from a quick trial of Zyprexa. You wouldn't need anything more than a few weeks to know if it will be helpful. You might even respond to it within a few days. Zyprexa is a newer "atypical" antipsychotic with antidepressant and mood-stabilizing properties. EPS side effects are very much reduced compared to the early neuroleptics. Tardive dyskinesia is almost unheard of. Many people who take it report thinking more clearly in addition to experiencing relief from anxiety and rumination in particular.

With what I know now about the antipsychotics, I wouldn't hesitate to try Zyprexa. I have used it and benefited from it. I have been on Abilify for over two years. I do not recommend Geodon, as it can precipitate mania and psychosis. Abilify is sometimes hard to initiate, as it can produce an akathisia-like effect during the first week or two. Zyprexa will make a much better first choice.

No, you're not in a true state of psychosis, because, well, you had the clarity of mind to post here. =) However, it does sound like you're having a lot of intrusive thought issues (i.e. you mentioned that when you go out you can't stop thinking about 'what used to be here hundreds of years ago,' which is a sort of benign thought, but for you it obviously is unpleasant and uncontrollable) - atypical-antipsychotics can help with that. People who are psychotic take atypical-antipsychotics too, sure, but many people who aren't psychotic take them too and much lower doses than the already "psychosed."

So in other words talking to your pdoc about being placed on a atypical-antipsychotic to control these pervasive/intrusive thoughts might be helpful. A small dose of Zyprexa before bed or so as another poster mentioned would probably be an excellent start.

Good luck.

Do you have any pills on you now? Try just taking one or half or a quarter of one. Just once. See what happens.

You sound like you may be developing a psychosis.
